Kapala of Tanjung Simpang Village, Abu Nawas revealed, community coconut trees from 10 trenches were attacked by hornbill beetles, some coconut trees died and no longer produced coconut fruit.
As a result, local coconut farmers feel economically disadvantaged, it is estimated that farmers fail to harvest.

Meanwhile, the march of mass action through Feri Irawan claimed, the case of the beetle pest attack also occurred on 30 December 2019, at that time the local community had held a meeting with the Village Head, Bhabinkamtibmas, BPD, Tomas.
“This time to follow up on the negligence of the company which is considered less attention to environmental impacts due to the rejuvenation of oil palm plantations,” he said.

As a result of these negotiations, an agreement was reached to meet the demands of the community asking the PT TH Indo Plantatons company to approve and invite the Verification Team to continue the case, and count the dead coconut plants due to the horn beetle pest.
